Wheelock Group
Since we began to provide SEO services in 1999 as a professional company, we've used the analogy that your website is only an island in the huge ocean we call the web. Without SEO, you may as well try smoke signals or messages in bottles to contact your customers.
With billions of documents available on the web, the odds your customers will simply stumble across your company are pretty slim. The only way to give your company a lifeline to the mainland is to submit your company island to the search engines for indexing. Even then, website pages that don't properly utilize SEO concepts won't help your company to find the customers you're looking for - or rather, it won't help your customers find you.
Recently, we provided an SEO audit for a company website who might be a candidate for our SEO services, and couldn't believe what we saw; no meta tags whatsoever, title tags with only the company name, huge graphics including paragraphs of text, Flash navigation menus, and almost no actual content. SEO concepts and this example company have never met. Apparently the design company who built the site in the first place also needs a good SEO education.
A company who wants to be competitive cannot write off their website as a simple brochure only to be seen when they tell someone about it. Do you suppose your company could have too many customers?
If you are a company owner, or in charge of your company marketing, you need to ask yourself a few questions: Is your company satisfied with the number of customers you already have? Have you been successful at gaining customers through your company website? Do you feel that your company has maximized its SEO efforts and potential on the web? Think about some of the answers you've come up with and take a look at your competitor's company website's. Is your company website optimized and competitive on the search engines?
In the case we described above, the company is a candidate for a complete site face-lift that is designed with SEO in mind. While this case is extreme, we normally can help your SEO efforts through simpler methods.
After our typical SEO audits, we usually recommend landing page optimization, minor graphical changes, keyword optimization, content updates, and rarily SEO optimized application development for your company website. There are a few SEO concepts that you can implement yourself, but you may want help from a professional SEO company to be entirely effective.
The decision to utilize the expertise of an SEO company is yours to make and you're ultimately the person who determines the success of your web marketing. We are here as a professional SEO company available to help if you choose. Contact us to start talking about your website needs. In a quick initial interview, we'll take a peek at your company website, current ranking with the search engines, and provide you with some SEO recommendations within just a few minutes. If you'd like us to get more thoroughly involved with your SEO efforts, then we'll work out a program that includes your company goals and budget.
If you choose to tackle your SEO services yourself, then please take the time to educate yourself on SEO concepts and techniques and utilize them on your company website properly. We'll still be here when you need us. We just don't want to find any more islands out there...

Okay, so what can a manufacturing business do to prevent catastrophic failure in the current economy? Most are tightening belts and budgets to reflect lower sales and profits. Many are looking toward Lean or other manufacturing technology that will save resources, equipment, and time to save money overall. Some manufacturing companies are trying to differentiate by utilizing the equipment and resources they currently have in new markets. Others are simply closing their doors.
As you slash your advertising budgets and reduce marketing staff, where will new customers come from? Can you rely on manufacturing trade organizations full of other businesses who are in the same sinking ship? Are business directories able to share your complete manufacturing expertise to potential customers? Are your traditional forms of advertising getting out to new potential customers? What has your website done for you lately?
This is a landing page - or at least an example of a landing page if it doesn't rank well. The concept of using a landing page in SEO terms isn't new, but still provides an excellent way for you to capture leads from the search engines.
Essentially, a landing page is one page on your web site optimized for just a few specific keywords. In this case, we're using 'landing page' as our main keywords and we'll try to focus on a couple other keywords to capture leads on the long-tail searches as well. Landing pages are sometimes referred to as 'lead capture pages' for the obvious reason that they are intended to capture leads.
Landing pages are used to grab leads from the search engines through excellent ranking on specific keywords. Not every page on your site can be optimized for your preferred keywords. This is what has made landing pages such a successful strategy.
